Raumplan is founded in 2019 by David Klinkhamer and Roel van der Zeeuw. Both partners have worked at renowned architecture firms and have gained extensive experience in designing and developing a diverse range of projects in The Netherlands and abroad. Raumplan is operating in the field of architecture and (cooperative) development as it believes the combination of the two practices in one office can bring new insights to the way an architectural project is realised. Raumplan engages in all architectural and urbanist design, creating projects of all scales ranging from furniture to masterplanning. The practice also connects academic research and teaching to its work as it considers a vital relationship between the two as mutually beneficial in creating unexpected views and crossovers.
Together with a passionate team Raumplan is currently working on several medium sized housing projects in The Netherlands, is designing and developing a large mixed use building in Amsterdam and is teaching at the Delft University of Technology master studios.
David Klinkhamer
With a background in both architecture and business, David combines the practice of architecture with entrepreneurship to initiate meaningful new forms of (cooperative) development. After developing MKA into a professional company of 30 employees, it was time to start an own office and David co-founded Raumplan in 2019 with Roel van der Zeeuw.
